Distribution of Zakat; IHC adjourns hearing

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court here Monday adjourned hearing of a plea seeking immediate distribution of Zakat and other funds meant for the poor and needy segments of society.

The single bench of Chief Justice Sardar Mohammad Aslam heard the writ petition filed by Kowkab Iqbal Advocate.

According to rejoinder submitted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs with IHC on the similar subject, the total amount to be disbursed stood at Rs4 billion as against the claim made by the petitioner.
