Gilani greets Zardari on assuming President’s office

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday called on President Asif Ali Zardari and congratulated him on assuming the office of the head of state. The Prime Minister said with Zardari becoming the president the transition to democracy in the country had been completed and would flourish in the days to come.He hoped that President Zardari would uphold the mission of the two Shaheed leaders Benazir Bhutto and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who fought for the uplift of the common man.President Zardari said the parliament would be made sovereign with the President subservient to it. He reiterated his aim to strengthen the democratic institutions in the country.
