Yousuf slams selectors over Twenty20 snub
KARACHI: Seasoned Pakistan batsman Mohammad Yousuf has questioned his continued omission from Pakistan's Twenty20 team after being left off a shortlist for next month's four-nation tournament in Toronto, Canada.
Yousuf, who has played 79 tests and 269 one-dayers, said the selectors could ask any respected former captain whether he was fit to play Twenty20 cricket.
"You go and ask great players like Wasim Akram and Inzamam-ul-Haq if I don't deserve to play Twenty20 cricket. If they say I should be dropped then I will quit all cricket," Yousuf said while talking to a local daily on Friday.
"I just don't understand what criteria there is for selecting the Twenty20 players, he said, adding that he believed he was the best batsman in the Pakistan team.
