Warne backs selection of McGain

SYDNEY: Shane Warne has heartedly endorsed late-blooming legspinner Bryce McGain as Australia's new No. 1 Test spinner - but refused to entirely rule out making a shock international comeback.Long-time Victorian club cricketer McGain, 36, was yesterday named as Australia's frontline spinner for next month's arduous four-Test Indian tour and will partner rookie Tasmanian offspinner Jason Krejza in a 15-man squad.Warne has backed McGain to do the job and insists his fellow Victorian is the top spinner in Australia despite his age. "If you look at the spinners at the moment in Australia - he is the best," Warne told local daily."He has slowed his pace down and is spinning it beautifully.
