Unfit Afridi set to miss Pakistan practice games
KARACHI: Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi is a doubtful starter for September's Champions Trophy because of a wrist injury and is likely to miss a series of practice games in Lahore next week. A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official said on Friday that specialists have advised Afridi a three-week rest, which is why he might not play in the practice games August 5, 7 and 9. The games have been planned between leading Pakistani cricketers and second-string players and will serve as trials before Pakistan name their 15-man squad for the Champions Trophy. Meanwhile, Leg Spinner Danish Kaneria rejected to leave his county to participate in practice one day match. PCB asked Kaneria to leave his county to take part in the practice match.
