Pakistani workers remitted more than $ 627 mln in July

KARACHI: Pakistani workers remitted a record amount of 627.21 million dollars during July 2008 as against 495.69 million dollars in the same month of last fiscal year , showing a jump of 131.52 million dollars or 26.53%. The amount of $ 627.21 million includes $ 0.05 million received through encashment and profit earned on Foreign Exchange Bearer Certificates (FEBCs) and Foreign Currency Bearer Certificates (FCBCs) , says a statement issued by State Bank of Pakistan here on Tuesday.
