Food Stamp Scheme inaugurated in Punjab
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday inaugurated a Food Stamp Scheme worth Rs22 billion in Lahore. Shahbaz Sharif said government would provide relief to poor, needy and disabled persons at their doorsteps without any compromise on their self-esteem. The chief minister said: “1.8 million families would get relief through this scheme, adding money order of Rs1000 would be posted at their mailing address on monthly basis. Children of poor and needy families would be imparted technical education, he added. Earlier, he inaugurated Universal Primary Enrolment Scheme in Central Model School in Lahore. He said under this scheme 1.7 million students would be given free text books.
